I said I was old at 39 years and someone said;
'You're as old as the Woman you feel'
Great, that's just taken off 25 years

We live in an age of conformity, herded like sheep into the pen of mediocrity, numbed by TV and spaced out on coke and alcohol, blindly following each fad as if it were actually something new. Mediocre music. Mediocre film. Mediocre emotions. And above all, mediocre language. Come one, come all.......

Using the tips in your blog I am managing to avoid banalities in my day to day life but have lately found myself referring to weekday nights as 'school nights'. like, "i can't go on to a club, it's a school night", even though i am 36 and plainly not at school any more. short of giving myself a slap each time this happens, i was wondering if you had any tips to avoid insidious banalities that creep into everyday conversation. are we born banal, or is it just a state of mind?
